About Massage

When should I arrive?

It would be great if you could arrive at least 10 minutes before your treatment is due to start. This is advised especially for new clients who are required to fill out a record form before their first treatment. 

These extra few minutes also gives you time to change in to appropriate attire or relax before your treatment.  Please also make sure your mobile phone is switched off before entering the treatment room.

Can I drop-in for a massage?

You are welcome to drop-in to discuss our massage treatments, however, bookings are recommended if you want a treatment. You can either drop-in to make a booking or phone 0428 422 368.

What are your opening hours?

We are opened Monday to Saturday. All treatments / massage are appointment only..

How often should I have a treatment?

This varies from person to person and will depend on how much stress is being placed on your body. If initially you present with pain, then a follow up treatment a week after your initial treatment is advised.  From there we will discuss what the best plan of action would be for you.

Once your pain is under control you may want to consider a maintenance program to keep you at your optimum.

It’s my first treatment. How long should I book?

For initial consultations 60 minutes is preferred. Please arrive a 10 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out a new patient form.

I have never had a massage before, what should I expect from my first appointment?

Your first appointment will involve a thorough assessment of your postural analysis, a functional test of your musculo-skeletal  system. You will also be asked a series of questions about your particular complaint, after which an appropriate treatment plan will be devised. (Read what to expect on your first consultation)

Can I get a massage if I’m pregnant?

You sure can. In fact massage is great for relieving those tired and sore muscles in and around the hips, lower back and shoulders. For obvious reasons, Pregnancy massage uses less pressure than a normal massage treatment and your positioning on the treatment table will vary according to what stage of pregnancy you’re in. Do you offer relaxation massage?

Yes we do, however, we find that most clients are usually relaxed after most of our treatments, whether it be reflexology, hot stone massage, NST or remedial massage.

Will the treatment hurt?

The firmness of your treatment will vary from person to person. That is, the amount of pressure used will be adjusted to suit to you and your condition. This is best determined by communicating your level of comfort, or discomfort, to your therapist during your treatment.

Generally speaking, when being massaged on a area that is aggravated it may be a little sore, but in a good way.

About Gift Vouchers

Do you offer Gift Vouchers?

Gift Vouchers for specific or combined treatments can be purchased from our clinic. You can choose the specific treatments at the time of purchase or just just spend a set amount, and leave it to the gift recipient to make their own choice of treatments. Must the Gift Voucher be used within a certain time period?

AS Smart Gift Vouchers expire 6 months from the date of issue and are not redeemable for cash. The full value of the voucher can be partially redeemed over the validity period, but must be fully redeemed before expiry. Any unused balance will not be refunded or credited when the voucher expires.

Where the cost of the treatment/s and/or purchases exceeds the available voucher balance, the voucher holder will be required to make up the difference with an alternative form of payment.

AS SMART disclaims any responsibility for lost or stolen vouchers. All Gift Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be transferred.

What payment types do you accept?

We accept cash, Mastercard, Visa and Eftpos for all treatments and products.

Do you offer health fund rebates?

When it comes to claiming a rebate for your massage with your Health Fund, please be aware that all funds are different.  Please contact your health fund directly regarding rebate availability and amounts.  

Can I get private health fund rebates on remedial massage?

Yes. Most private health funds cover Remedial Massage therapy as a extra. Check with your health fund to see if this applies to you.
